Earlier this week you will have received an email about the joint collaboration between KAR and KADREA where we will explore the potential benefits of joining the Association of Interior REALTORS® (AIR), which is the new association that was formed by the merger of OMREB and SOREB. A lot of information will be circulated to the membership over the next few months, and I encourage you keep informed and ask questions – this is an important process and we want to make sure that you have all the information you need as we move through this process.
On a separate note I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jodie Ouimet to a vacant position on the KAR board of directors. As directed by KAR’s Bylaws, the directors voted to appoint Jodie for the remainder of the vacant term, to December 31, 2021.
Jodie has been a REALTORS® since 2003, a property manager since 2010, and the owner and managing broker of Mountain Town Properties since 2011. Based in Rossland, BC, Jodie will bring a diverse and unique perspective to the board. We look forward to having Jodie join us and represent you, the members, at the board table.
Lastly, don’t forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming virtual KAR AGM and REALTOR® Awards on September 17th. We were so happy with the large number of award nominations, and over 1/3 of the membership took part in the REALTOR®’s Choice vote. Thank you to everyone who has taken part, and we look forward to finding out who the winners are on September 17th. Registration details will be emailed to the members early next week.
Have a safe and happy long weekend,
2021 KAR President
SentriKey® App: why it's important to learn how to use it now
SentriCards will be decommissioned at the end of 2021, which means it's a good time to start using the SentriKey app.
Visit the SentriKey® App Real Estate Training School to learn more.
KADREA is hosting Ethics: Unlocking the REALTOR® Code on September 14th and KAR members are invited to attend.
This 6-hour accredited PDP course is
presented by "The Ethics Guy" Kim Spencer. Please note that this is NOT the same as the mandatory BCFSA course, Ethics for the Real Estate Professional. More about BCFSA continuing education can be found here.
To register for Ethics: Unlocking the REALTOR® Code and for more details visit the KAR Member Portal: it's your one-stop-shop for education information.
You may have noticed a new format for the PCS auto-emails was released last week.
A number of members have been requesting this feature and RealtyServer has delivered - client auto-emails now include a thumbnail view of the listings included in the latest update to their portal.
Clients (and you too if you are bcc'd) can now get a quick snapshot of the property and what has information has been updated right in the body of the email. We hope this feature will help streamline your workflow and make the PCS experience even better for your clients.
Got feedback? Send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
