On June 15, 2018, new provincial rules came into effect banning limited dual agency in real estate transactions.

Simply put, these new rules put limitations on a consumer's right to work with the REALTOR® of their choice if that same REALTOR® is on the other side of the transaction.

If you are concerned about these new rules, please consider writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Real Estate, which is the regulatory agency of the BC government dedicated to protecting consumers who are buying, selling or renting a home.

You are welcome to use the form on this page, or you may wish to contact the Superintendent directly:

Email: RealEstate@gov.bc.ca

Telephone:

  • 1-855-999-1883 (toll-free)

  • 604-660-1883

The REALTOR® mark specifically identifies a person who is a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association and subscribes to a higher standard of professional real estate services and code of ethics.
